Ivy Park - Fashion and Beyoncé's past merge in one collection

Sarah McMullen Fashion

Just last month, the one and only Beyoncé created Ivy Park - a collaboration between the pop diva and hip, British retailer, Topshop. What seemed to be an athleisure collection of polyester headbands and spandex pants marked with the Ivy Park logo, turns out to be a lot more to Queen Bey than just workout clothes you wear to a $100 session of hot yoga.

Little do we know, that when riffling through TopShop’s racks to find our size in the heather gray leotard stamped with Ivy Park in big bold letters, is that we are sifting through Beyoncé’s past. As our fingers glide down the slick Ivy Park spandex leggings, we are touching a piece of her soul and hard work that went into making Beyoncé who she is today.

A black and white, Oscar-worthy, promo video on the Ivy Park website, explains that this collection represents the drive and discipline it has taken to become a legend. So, the cotton white racer back tank that you are about to drop $52 on to show those lululemon bishes up, actually speaks to one's goals, determination and ambition.

Undeniably, Mrs. Carter has outdone herself again with this collection. This activewear line features modern workout clothes that are comfortable, edgy and underlined with a hint of badassery (a similar trait shared by StyleMeister's Label Parody collection). Ivy Park pieces vary from breathable crop tops to body suits to mesh trim dance pants for the dancing queen in all of us. Though the prices of the pieces seem to be on the more expensive side, they are comparable to other high-ticket trendy workout gear in the marketplace today. If I were you, I would make sure to grab this swag ASAP before it is cleaned up by the BeyHive, and be known as the hot trendsetter at your nearest SoulCycle.
